I don’t fully agree what Dana is saying but he speaks some truth.

I see Dana’s point of view, but I have to disagree on the money part. There has to be money involved in the amateur level or you’ll never get the reforms you want. and the part about him wanting the amateurs training at the olympics training center. . . sounds like he just wants a free way to get good talent. If he benefits from getting good amateurs, he should be kicking something into the kiddy. Dana rocks, but I think he’s a little off on his amateur MMA position.

It depends on which state you’re in. Each state has it’s own rules at the amateur level. For instance, in Illinois, you have to have a blood test before you fight and can throw elbows and knees (not all states allow that). They also have medical. They will match you up to a certain amount. There does need to be a uniform system that covers all 50 states and territories.
